CO-OP PROJECT
SPRING 2023


Created a short animated story during my co-op at Crown Equipment Corporation. Intended to improve my motion graphic skills and bring levity to the brand.

CONCEPT


Crown Equipment Corporation is a global manufacturer of material-handling equipment, primarily
known for industrial forklifts. The goal of this animation was to highlight the strength/quality of
their forklifts and was executed in a humorous fashion to introduce more light-heartedness into
their brand.



STORYBOARDS


Through multiple revisions due to time constraints, the animation followed the story of a character
struggling to get to a party due to the presence of a large box. Multiple attempts are made to move
it, but all are unsuccessful until the arrival of “Crown Man.” Using his forklift powers, the box is
lifted with ease. The story ends with a reveal of the Crown logo in the box.





LEARNING TO ANIMATE


With very minimal experience in After Effects and no experience with character animation, this project was a huge learning opportunity and a great chance to expand on these skills. The process started with figuring how to animate a walk cycle, which once finished, was expanded to the rest of the characters.


OBJECT CREATION


During the character animation process, a collection of objects was also necessary to create to add detail and provide essential story elements. They were created in Adobe Illustrator.



FINAL RESULT


With some adjustments due to time constraints, the story was able to be animated all the way
through. Additionally, music was added to make the final animation feel more complete provide a
more engaging viewing experience. The music was selected to fit the energetic feel of the short.
